More than 1,000 parents across Tennessee were polled in late 2024 by a team of clinicians and researchers at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt to gauge their concerns about issues impacting their child’s health, including health insurance, access to health care and other areas affecting the well-being of their children. Nearly half (47%) of Tennessee children had public health insurance (TennCare or CoverKids) in 2024.
