What was your first job as a journalist?
Writer at Binge Fringe Magazine, reviewing mostly student theatre and emerging artists.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
To go where others wouldn't.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
By email or Twitter DM.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Wordpress and many handy plug-ins, Scrivener, WriterDuet.
What's your favorite social network?
Twitter is the lifeblood of Fringe.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Covering the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2021 - Meeting people creating theatre in the precariousness of a pandemic was inspiring.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Any time, as long as you've read the things I'm interested in and know that the story matches my brief.
What's your favorite drink?
Beavertown Neck Oil.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
In the rows of a black box Fringe theatre.

A Younger Theatre
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That theatre people are snobby and removed. Some are, the best aren't.
