Abstract Recent studies suggest some hippocampal (HC) neurons respond to passively presented sounds in naïve subjects, but the specificity and prevalence of these responses remain unclear. We used Neuropixels probes to record unit activity across layers in mid-ventral HC and auditory cortex (ACtx) of awake, untrained mice (male and female) while presenting diverse sounds at typical environmental levels (65–70 dB SPL).

Hi everyone, I have a fossil watch from the 90s that I'm trying to repair and clean. I'm mainly doing this for the learning experience. I know fossil watches are cheap. I've cleaned the case and crystal with soap and water removing the majority of build up with a soft bristle toothbrush, but I'm left with a couple troublesome areas... The crystal has what looks like water spotting on the inside which I can't remove. Would I use a type of solution like alcohol, or a polish to hide them?
