Systematic review of sarcopenia in chronic pancreatitis: prevalence, impact on surgical outcomes, and survival
ABSTRACT Introduction Chronic pancreatitis (CP) is characterized by progressive inflammatory changes to the pancreas, leading to loss of endocrine and exocrine function. Emerging literature suggests sarcopenia may adversely affect outcomes for chronic pancreatitis patients. This systematic review examines the evidence surrounding the impact of sarcopenia on patients with CP.
Background: International guidelines state any post-surgical margin wider than tumour on ink (ToI) following breast conserving surgery (BCS) for invasive cancer is acceptable, based on analyses of margin width and local recurrence (LR). We aimed to determine if margin involvement is associated with distant recurrence (DR) and to determine a minimum margin to minimize DR and LR.

Do surgical margins matter after mastectomy? A systematic review
Abstract Background No consensus exists regarding adequacy of margins after mastectomy. To determine if pathological margin proximity is associated with local (LR) or distant recurrence after mastectomy for early invasive breast cancer or ductal carcinoma in situ. Methods A systematic review of literature published from 1980 to 2019 and meta-analysis was conducted. Unpublished data were sought from authors (PROSPERO (CRD42019127541)).

Outcomes of Pregnancy in Recipients of Liver Transplants

Background Despite increasing reports of pregnancy in liver transplant recipients, it is not clear how transplantation and immunosuppression affect outcomes of pregnancies. Findings Of 139 pregnancies assessed using a liver transplant database from the United Kingdom, 69% resulted in live births. Women who conceived more than 1 year after transplantation had significantly higher rates of live birth than women with earlier conception after transplantation.
