Residents are being invited to enjoy an evening of Ukrainian music, poetry and culture in Hitchin tomorrow while helping to raise money for humanitarian work in Ukraine. The "Ukrainian Music and Culture: A Summer Fundraising Concert" will take place on Saturday, 4 July, at Walsworth Road Baptist Church, bringing together live music, traditional performances and poetry in a celebration of Ukrainian heritage.

Families in Hitchin can once again explore the inside of the human body as the popular 'Blood and Bone' exhibition returns to North Herts Museum this weekend. The free interactive exhibition opens on Saturday 4 July and runs until 20 September, transforming the museum into a giant walk-through human body featuring enormous inflatable sculptures inspired by cells, bones and organs.

Hitchin has officially entered the race to become the UK Town of Culture 2028, with organisers hoping the town's rich heritage, thriving arts scene and strong community spirit can earn it national recognition. The winning town in each category will receive £3 million to deliver a six-month programme of cultural events in 2028. Two runners-up will each be awarded £250,000 to bring parts of their bid to life.
