Men like John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and George Washington are well known to most in the United States and are immortalized with statues, monuments, and in the retelling of American history. However, absent from this pantheon is one man whose contributions set the stage for them all to reach greatness: James Otis Jr. Even today, he remains absent from our collective historical memory.
