I predominantly write for the film section, but have also contributed content in the following areas: news, comment, features, lifestyle, science & technology, culture, music, TV and sport.

Trailer Released For Jessie Eisenberg’s Musical Comedy The Debut

Lionsgate have released the first trailer and a poster for Jesse Eisenberg’s upcoming musical comedy, The Debut. As well as writing and directing the new feature, Eisenberg also wrote the original songs alongside music supervisor Steven Gizicki and executive music producer Bill Sherman. The synopsis reads “The Debut tells the story of a shy woman who is unexpectedly cast in a local production of an original musical.

Toy Story 5 Debuts At Top Of UK Box Office

Toy Story 5 has opened at the top of the UK box office with the biggest opening in the franchise’s history. The fifth main film in the Toy Story franchise opened with £14.4 million. Screen Daily reports that this is higher than the £13.3 million debut of Toy Story 4 (2019). However, it falls just short of the £15.1 million opening achieved by Frozen II (2019), which represents the highest three-day opening for any animated film in history.

Disclosure Day Opens At Top Of UK Box Office

Steven Spielberg’s latest science fiction thriller, Disclosure Day, has opened at the top of the UK box office. Starring Emily Blunt and Josh O’Connor, Spielberg’s new film opened to £3.9 million, and including previews is up to £5.5 million. Screen Daily reports that Disclosure Day has scored the biggest opening for a Spielberg film since Ready Player One (2018), which ended up grossing $607.9 million worldwide.
