Police have issued a major murder investigation update after a 19-year-old was shot dead during a burglary at a farm. Marcus Smith was pronounced dead at the remote farm on Eccles Road, Whaley Bridge, in the early hours of May 1 2024. The budding footballer, who played for local club Chapel Town FC had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and died from his injuries.
