Normal people know there’s a difference between a “stabbing” and an attempted beheading. To be clear, both are horrific. But news and footage of an attempted beheading in the middle of Belfast immediately raises questions. Questions that authorities, already perched precariously atop a tinderbox of social unrest, would prefer not to be asked. Questions about race. And questions about religion.
