Netflix has clearly found its newest smash hit series by way of a retelling of one of the most beloved Westerns of all time, and now it has the numbers to prove it. Premiering last Thursday, July 9, the new series about life on the American frontier immediately shot up to #2 on the charts before taking first place on the daily Top 10 over the weekend.

There's no denying that the action genre was propped up in the 80s and 90s thanks to over-the-top heroes played by the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. Their movies propelled the genre to heights unseen, and allowed new stars to emerge in the 2000s that brought their own flair to the silver screen. Men like Jason Statham and Tony Jaa found success, as did women like Milla Jovovich and Angelina Jolie thanks to Resident Evil and Tomb Raider.

Henry Cavill is quickly becoming one of the biggest action stars around these days, and the upcoming release of both Voltron and Highlander will surely solidify his place in the genre and all its many sub-categories. However, while movies like Man of Steel and Enola Holmes became massive hits for the British actor, he's definitely had a few duds in his career.
