Key Points Question What are the differences in early postoperative functional outcomes between transoral laser microsurgery (TLM) and robotic surgery (TORS) for human papillomavirus–positive oropharyngeal carcinoma? Findings In this cohort substudy that included 508 patients within a randomized clinical trial, nasogastric tube insertion rates within 4 weeks after surgery were significantly higher after TORS than TLM (85 of 189 [45%] vs 10 of 126 [8%]).
