Flying Solo in The Basque Region

Southern France and Northern Spain make up the pulse of Basque Country and during late September/early October it needs to move up a peg on your surf trip list. It’s the absolute Mecca of surf culture, love, nudity and beach break barrels. I spent August in Southern California, and while usually a decent month for surf, the only real swell Cali received I missed out on because I was on a trek up to Lake Tahoe. I needed to get barrelled.

The keyboard warriors have been slamming on through their LifeProof cases, spreading nothing but hate for Facebook and the new viewing platform. I’ve got a serious question for all you donkeys who have nothing better to do than bash Facebook, The WSL, and Mikey Fucking Wright… Would you rather us not get to watch the tour at all? Would you rather things go back to the way they were when each event had its own broadcast put on by the sponsors?
