Circulation‐Driven Larval Dispersal Patterns Are Sufficient to Set the Location of Numerous Coastal Biogeographic Boundaries
1 Introduction In the coastal ocean, species range boundaries often cluster in certain locations that can result in a noticeable change in alongshore species assemblage, referred to as biogeographic boundaries (Spalding et al. 2007; Costello et al. 2017; Giachini Tosetto et al. 2025).
Increasing Global Expansion Speeds of Marine Invaders
1 Introduction Quantifying the spread of invasive species is a long-standing goal of ecology, and pivotal for understanding invasion dynamics and finding management solutions (Elton 1958; Fisher 1937; Hastings et al. 2005; Skellam 1951). Invasive species are non-native species capable of spreading in their introduced range.

Anthropogenic climate change will likely outpace coral range expansion
Abstract Past coral range expansions suggest that high-latitude environments may serve as refugia, potentially buffering tropical biodiversity loss due to climate change. We explore this possibility for corals globally, using a dynamical metacommunity model incorporating temperature, light intensity, pH, and four distinct, interacting coral assemblages. This model reasonably reproduces the observed distribution and recent decline of corals across the Indo-Pacific and Caribbean.

Fifty Years Ago, Death Came to Saigon
The Vietnamese gentleman who opened the door to the Reuter office, on the eve of Vietnam’s most important festival of the year, was no stranger to the two correspondents sitting with head phones, taking dictation from two colleagues filing big news from the war-torn northern part of the country on Jan. 31, 1968, the second day of Tet.
MAD London: Premium Video Lets Publishers Fight Back Against Google And Facebook
We live in a video-first world, and the battle for audiences is becoming fiercer by the day. Video is rapidly becoming the preferred method of media consumption. In fact, it is predicted to account for 82% of all internet traffic by 2021. That’s big. For better or worse, YouTube and Facebook still have a tight grip on video ad landscape, taking the lion’s share of revenue away from traditional publishers. This is not surprising, given the unbeatable scale the platforms offer.
When the Khmer Rouge came to kill in Vietnam
Before the Vietnam War, Cambodians used to trudge across the border into this nondescript town in Vietnam's Mekong Delta to trade. During the war, supplies for Viet Cong forces also came this way. That's why the landscape is cratered and often sparse in vegetation, the result of American bombing and use of the herbicide Agent Orange. . Especially after the war spread into Cambodia, Vietnamese communist forces assisted their Cambodian co-revolutionaries, the Khmer Rouge. .
