High Energy Physics - Theory
We consider $\mathcal{N}=4$ supersymmetric Yang--Mills theory with gauge group SU$(N)$, which admits families of conformal surface defects defined by singular boundary conditions for scalar fields that completely break supersymmetry. At large $N$ and strong coupling, these defects are holographically dual either to a probe D5-brane or to one of two new D7-brane embeddings that we introduce in this work.

He was born in Fayetteville on November 5, 1930, to his loving parents; he had a brother and two sisters. He graduated from Southport High School and had worked for Frito Lay Company for several years before settling down in Oak Island to manage the pier, which was his passion. After his retirement he continued with his hobby of repairing rods and reels. In September 2013, Jim suffered a stroke that left him paralyzed on his left side; he fought hard to get better each day.
