Bryn Mawr Classical Review
The Seventh Letter attributed to Plato is a veritable treasure chest of riches, but in recent decades it has been rejected or, more commonly, simply ignored by many of Plato’s readers. Fortunately, this new translation and commentary by James M. Redfield makes this neglected Platonic text accessible to everyone from novices to advanced scholars by presenting the Letter in a slim, affordable standalone book in the Hackett Publishing series.

The Hindu Lit for Life| Malini Agarwal on surviving and thriving in the digital world
When I set out to write Under the Influence: How to Survive and Thrive Online, I realised that we are not given any sort of guidance on how to be online, or what to expect. This was on my mind for a while, and I thought about how even when we have to drive a car, there is a test to take. In reality, we learn everything; our Ps and Qs, and even the basics about how we need to cover our nose when we sneeze.
Desires
In the spring of 1934, poet and artist Celia Dropkin published her only novel, Desires (originally published as Two Feelings). The book was released in sixty-eight installments in The Jewish Daily Forward to an avid Yiddish readership. Recently translated into English by Anita Norich and published by the Yiddish Book Center, the novel follows Shirley, Sam, and Harry, Jews from a small, nameless town outside New York City who together form a love triangle.
Fame’s Shadow | The Point Magazine
The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield came out in 1993. I first heard of the novel when people began asking me if I had written it. My wife bought us a copy, but neither of us really got through it. I found the style flat and the content not my sort of thing—bits of Carl Jung in a sort of New Age Jell-O.

The Summer Best-Sellers of the '90s: The Law Firm of Grisham, Clancy, Cornwall, and Steele
Summer may be done and dusted, but it’s still beach season in our hearts, and possibly our bookshelves. Today, journey with me back in time to an era I very vividly remember, as I was a young adult at the time; a flannel-clad decade, the heyday of grunge, those halcyon days of dial-up internet only… Yes, the 1990s, and more specifically, its summer bestsellers.
Quantum Spirituality, Celestine Prophecy, UFOs and Gnosticism Quantum Spirituality, Celestine Prophecy, UFOs and Gnosticism

Ruby was virtually photographed and interviewed in Los Angeles by Alison Engstrom Hi Ruby, it’s lovely to meet you! You have such a diverse background, you were born in Costa Rica and lived in Brazil and now Germany. How did your upbringing influence the way you see the world? Moshkeleh the Thief: A Rediscovered Novel
Review By – September 9, 2021 Moshkeleh the Thief isn’t quite a rediscovered novel, as its subtitle claims. It’s true that this (excellent) translation is the first time this particular story has been rendered in English.

BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS
BOOKS, BOOKS, BOOKS 2019 I noticed a steady rise in the number of readers in my circles, friends started popping up talking about books that I’ve read like 1034568 years ago, that have only now come to their attention, flaunting their newly acquired knowledge across all social platforms possible, annoying the veteran readers — (in case it doesn’t read as such, this is all very sarcastic, I too am one of the new readers, flaunting my reads on the socials — whilst real veterans look at me,...
Why Trying To Control Our World Doesn't Work
How do you get thrown off your groove? I’ll bet the vast majority of times it’s due to either trying to control something or trying to gain approval from other(s). The ego wants both. Constantly. Control controlcontrol or get approval get approval get approval. Both make you feel lousy and impact your performance as a leader. Let’s say you wanted to control a particular outcome or situation and you didn’t get the result you wanted.
Boise should start planning for a ‘driverless’ 2025
I read with interest the report in the Idaho Statesman of the mayor’s presentation to the Boise Downtown Association and his thoughts for the future of transportation in Boise. In a short nine years we will be a quarter century through the 21st. Yet there will be more changes to transportation needs in those nine years than there have been in the last 65. So it is time to chart the future for the needs of 2025 and stop the backward-looking view framed by the 20th century.
