What was your first job as a journalist?

As a local hire for the Associated Press in the Jerusalem Bureau.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Once, as a friend had bought one

How is social media changing news?

News can now be shared across new platforms to reach new audiences.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

I love Grammarly, which is a fantastic program that makes sure I don't make silly mistakes, use the passive voice, or write awkward sentence

Why did you become a journalist?

I became a journalist for the Associated Press because I worshiped foreign correspondents in Jerusalem as a kid.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I'm proudest of my work on the Israeli interrogation system in the Palestinian West Bank and Gaza.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Write, write, write. Never stop writing. Practice makes perfect.
