Abstract : Simple Summary The current standard of care for locally advanced melanoma is surgery first followed by systemic therapy. However, there is growing evidence that neoadjuvant therapy may be beneficial. The current literature supports that neoadjuvant therapy may downstage tumors and thus reduce the extent of needed surgery, allow for prognostication based on the initial response to therapy, and is associated with improved outcomes.
