(WJW) — Good Sunday morning! Many are waking up to temperatures in the mid to upper 40s first thing Sunday morning. The sunrise time in Cleveland is at 7:18 a.m. Here’s a look at this morning’s lows as of 6 a.m. The weather could not look any better for the Browns home opener on Sunday! Anyone tailgating before the game will want to wear their favorite Browns sweatshirt or jacket. Temperatures will warm through the 50s and into the 60s Sunday morning.

(WJW) — It’s a cool start to the weekend. Many are waking up to temperatures in the mid to upper 40s, so just about everyone will need at least a light jacket or sweatshirt out the door this morning. Temperatures will start to jump as soon as the sun comes up. This stretch of pleasant, dry fall weather will continue this weekend! Make sure to get outside – the weather looks great for any outdoor fall activities. Saturday will be mostly sunny, with highs near 70 degrees.
Weekend forecast: Stretch of sun continues — how long?
CLEVELAND (WJW) – Friday night will not be as chilly as Thursday night. Overnight lows will range from the mid 40s to near 50 degrees. This stretch of sunny, pleasant weather will continue through the upcoming weekend! Make sure to get outside – the weather looks great for any outdoor fall activities. The streak of 8 consecutive wet weekends will come to an end this weekend! The last weekend without measurable rain in Cleveland was the last weekend in July.
Chilly night: Temperatures drop into 30s and 40s
CLEVELAND (WJW) – Make to dust off the heavy jacket before you go to bed tonight! Thursday night is going to be chilly, and the coolest night since early June. The combination of a mostly clear sky, dry air, and light winds will allow temperatures to drop into the upper 30s and lower 40s across the area. Friday will be a carbon copy of Thursday! The end of the workweek will be sunny, dry, and pleasant. Once again, temperatures will only reach the upper 60s to near 70 degrees Friday afternoon.
FORECAST: Fall-like feel to last day of summer
(WJW) — Monday is the last full of summer, but it is going to look and feel a lot more like fall. Highs on Monday will only be in the mid 60s, which is about 10 degrees below normal. Monday will also be a breezy day. The wind will be out of the northeast at 10 to 20 mph, wind gusts even higher. Keep the rain gear handy on Monday too. Light rain showers will move through the area throughout the day. Monday will not be a washout, and the coverage of rain will not be widespread.

(WJW) — Unfortunately, Sunday looks like it is going to be another wet day. Widespread rain with embedded downpours and rumbles of thunder will move through Northeast Ohio Sunday morning. The coverage of rain will go down Sunday afternoon. However, another batch of rain could move through Sunday evening into Sunday night. The main threat with the rain activity Saturday night through Sunday will be locally heavy rain. The heaviest rain will likely fall along and south of Highway 30.
FORECAST: Fall-like start to the week!
(WJW) — The start of the workweek will be very fall-like! Despite a fair amount of sunshine, highs on Monday will only be in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees. There will be a quick spike in the heat on Tuesday. The humidity will also start to return on Tuesday, and humidity levels will stay high through midweek. The weather pattern will turn a little more active midweek. Off-and-on rain showers and storms will develop along a slow-moving front Tuesday night through Thursday.

(WJW) — The good news is Sunday will not be as wet as Saturday. However, there will still be a chance of rain. A line or broken line of downpours and storms will develop across Northeast Ohio after 4 p.m. Sunday. Places along and south of I-76 will have the highest chance of rain and storms. Any downpours and storms that develop Sunday afternoon should move out of the area by 8 p.m. Sunday. Although threat looks low, a few stronger storms capable of gusty winds cannot be ruled out.

(WJW) — Fans of summer are going to love the weather for the start of the workweek! An upper-level ridge, or heat dome, will build into Northeast Ohio this week. This means an uptick in the heat and humidity. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be very warm, if not hot, and humid. Highs Monday through Wednesday will be in the upper 80s if not near 90 degrees. The high humidity levels could put feels like temperatures in the mid 90s.

(WJW) — Unfortunately, the second half of the weekend will not be as pleasant or sunny as the first. Sunday will be mostly cloudy with patchy sprinkles or a few light rain showers passing through the area. Sunday will be far from a washout. The coverage of rain will likely remain low, and the intensity will remain light throughout the day. The chance of rain will go up Sunday evening into Sunday night, especially across the primary snowbelt. This is where a downpour and a few storms could develop.

Lake Erie will be choppy with waves 3-5 feet plus. Beach Hazard Statements have also been posted due to the high rip current risk. Any rain showers or storms that move over Lake Erie could also produce waterspouts. This fall preview will continue on Monday. Highs on Monday will once again only be in the lower to mid 70s.

The pattern develops when clusters of storms form around the outer edge of a large area of high pressure, sometimes referred to as a heat dome.

(WJW) — The weather looks great for the annual Fox 8 Fox Trot at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on Sunday! We hope to see you there! Severe Thunderstorm Warning in Cuyahoga, Erie, Lorain, Summit counties
(WJW) — The National Weather Service has issued a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for Ashtabula, Crawford, Cuyahoga, Erie, Lorain, Medina, Portage, Summit and Trumbull counties until 6 p.m. at the latest on Saturday, July 18. A line of severe thunderstorms was spotted near western Vermilion at about 4:23 p.m., moving east at 40 mph. Wind gusts could reach 60 mph, causing damage to trees and power lines. Hail up to three-quarters of an inch could also appear.
FORECAST: Temps climb back into the 90’s this week
(WJW) — The start of the workweek will be mostly sunny and toasty. Temperatures will climb into the upper 80s on Monday. The upcoming workweek looks hot. An upper-level ridge will expand across the central United States this week. This will put Northeast Ohio on the eastern edge of the heat dome. Highs will be in the upper 80s and lower 90s all week long. Cleveland is forecast to hit 90 degrees or top 90 degrees on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Northern lights could dazzle in Ohio as sun ejections expected to spark storms
(NEXSTAR) – It’s been months since the world was hit by the strongest solar radiation storm in decades, bringing the northern lights to much of the U.S. Another storm in space – albeit shaping up to be weaker – is now en route to collide with Earth. For some, including in northern Ohio, that could mean another night of northern lights. Since Tuesday, three coronal mass ejections (CMEs) have been hurled out by the sun, according to NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center.
CLEVELAND (WJW) – The start of June has been just as nice as the end of the May! Here’s a look at Monday’s high temperatures: The average high in Cleveland on June 1st is 76 degrees. The weather still looks great to get outside Monday evening. Temperatures will drop through the 60s this evening. The wind will start to lighten up after sunset. Monday night will be mostly clear and seasonable. Overnight lows will be on either side of 50 degrees.

(WJW) — It has been a SUN-tastic start to the weekend! Despite all the sunshine, Saturday has been cooler, with many places not even getting out of the 60s! Saturday has also been a breezy day too. Wind gusts have topped 30 mph at times. Temperatures will drop back into the upper 50s shortly after sunset Saturday evening. The wind will also start to lighten up this evening as well. No major weather problems are expected for anyone who has outdoor plans.

CLEVELAND (WJW) — The National Weather Service has issued a BEACH HAZARD STATEMENT for Northern Ohio’s lakefront counties, including Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Erie, Lake, Lorain and Ottawa. It goes into effect late Friday, May 29, and continues through Saturday evening, May 30. The weather service advises swimmers to stay out of the water due to high risk of rip currents which can carry swimmers away from the shore.
