What was your first job as a journalist?
My first job as a journalist was as an undergrad at Brescia University working on the school paper.

Tina Belcher in the Bob's Burgers episode "Broadcast Wagstaff News."
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Via email. I'm not giving out my phone number unless I have to.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
I'm just over here living and dying by Google Docs and Microsoft Word.
What's your favorite social network?
I love Instagram personally, but I find myself on Twitter a lot.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Bold of you to assume my school was cultured enough to have a newspaper. It was all sports there.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I am proud of all my pieces. I put a lot of myself and work into them.
What's the best pitch you ever got?
The best one has to be when I was asked to write for Dread Central for 15th anniversary of Dead Silence.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
I keep getting these pitch emails for musicians I am not even remotely interested in, and if people paid attention they would know that. lol.
What's your favorite drink?
I'm a water or tea person.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Reading something, watching movies, scribbling notes, cooking food, or tending the garden.
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
That it's not as serious or as academic as other types of writing and journalism. It's just as scholarly and intense from my point of view.
