A Tinley Park mom who received a lifesaving liver transplant at the University of Chicago Medicine in July 2024 won two medals at this summer’s Transplant Games of America. Elizabeth “Liz” Sullivan, 38, placed third in two events: the 5K run and 5K cycling. Her husband, Shaun, finished second in the Caregiver 5K run. The moment seemed impossible three years ago.

Comfort and privacy: See inside an infusion room in the new AbbVie Foundation Cancer Pavilion

Right now, we are in the infusion chair room. The goals in the design of this room were to make it a little bit more private but at the same time, having the ability for the nurses to take a peek into the room when a patient is sitting here having an infusion. One of the nice features in these infusion rooms are that each of the rooms will have a designated vitals monitor.
