The dual trxG/PcG protein ULTRAPETALA1 modulates H3K27me3 and directly enhances POLYCOMB REPRESSIVE COMPLEX 2 activity for fine-tuned reproductive transitions
Abstract The antagonistic POLYCOMB (PcG) REPRESSIVE COMPLEX 2 (PRC2) and trithorax (trxG) chromatin machineries orchestrate gene expression during the development of multicellular eukaryotes. These complexes deposit and maintain the repressive trimethyl mark on H3K27 and the activating trimethyl mark on H3K4, respectively. However, the mechanisms governing the switch between these functions remain elusive, especially in plants, whose lifelong, flexible development relies heavily on this process.
Behavioural separation of face memory and face perception
Abstract A long-standing debate in neuropsychology concerns whether perception and memory function as independent systems or interact to support cognition. To investigate this, we develop the Face Memory and Perception task, a paradigm designed to systematically disentangle whether and how these processes interact under different conditions.
Structural basis for the synergistic assembly of the snRNA export complex - Nature Structural & Molecular Biology
Abstract The nuclear cap-binding complex (CBC) and its partner Arsenite-Resistance Protein 2 (ARS2) regulate the fate of RNA polymerase II transcripts via mutually exclusive interactions with RNA effectors. One such effector is PHAX, which mediates the nuclear export of U-rich small nuclear RNAs (snRNAs). Here we present the cryo-electron microscopy structure of the human snRNA export complex comprising phosphorylated PHAX, CBC, CRM1–RanGTP and capped RNA.
Behavioural separation of face memory and face perception
Abstract A long-standing debate in neuropsychology concerns whether perception and memory function as independent systems or interact to support cognition. To investigate this, we developed the Face Memory and Perception (FMP) task, a novel paradigm designed to systematically disentangle whether and how these processes interact under different conditions.
A measure of reliability convergence to select and optimize cognitive tasks for individual differences research - Communications Psychology
Abstract Surging interest in individual differences has faced setbacks in light of recent replication crises in psychology, for example in brain-wide association studies exploring brain-behavior correlations. A crucial component of replicability for individual differences studies, which is often assumed but not directly tested, is the reliability of the measures we use.
How To Save Money on Your Snowflake?
Recently, I visited a meet-up powered by Snowflake, which presented new features. The account executive gave a presentation in which he said, "Snowflake pricing is great. You only pay for two things - storage and queries." I felt uneasy hearing this sentence. Even though it is awesome to have such simple pricing, it targets the essential features. Storage and queries are the two main things you will utilize. The more you use, the more you pay - a straightforward equation.

TOPOVIBL-REC114 interaction regulates meiotic DNA double-strand breaks - Nature Communications
Abstract Meiosis requires the formation of programmed DNA double strand breaks (DSBs), essential for fertility and for generating genetic diversity. DSBs are induced by the catalytic activity of the TOPOVIL complex formed by SPO11 and TOPOVIBL. To ensure genomic integrity, DNA cleavage activity is tightly regulated, and several accessory factors (REC114, MEI4, IHO1, and MEI1) are needed for DSB formation in mice. How and when these proteins act is not understood.
Is NLQ the Future of Analytics?
We have seen significant progress in natural language processing (NLP) in recent years. From the latest achievements, it is worth mentioning No Language Left Behind (NLLB) - a universal open-source translator from Meta, DALL-E - a popular machine learning model from OpenAI which generates a realistic picture from a natural language description, Stable Diffusion - an open-source alternative to DALL-E, and many other machine learning models.
DELTA students are going to work in London
For the last few years, the world is becoming more and more open and people take traveling and working abroad as common. We welcome this attitude very much and we will be glad to help all who want to take a similar way, for example to students from the DELTA Pardubice Highschool. Part of the Erasmus+ European project we have been asked by the DELTA school management to find out a practice in IT companies for 15 students of DELTA who are traveling to London for a month at the end of August.
