By JULIE CARLE BG Independent News A former Wood County Fair Board director was sentenced to at least 17 years in prison for preying on and grooming three members of the 4-H program. On Thursday, Wood County Common Pleas Judge Joel Kuhlman handed down a minimum sentence of 17 years and a maximum sentence of 21 years to Brock Abke, 31, of Perrysburg.

From BOWLING GREEN STATE UNIVERSITY The Bowling Green State University Foundation has announced that President Emeritus Mary Ellen Mazey has created three endowed scholarships to assist BGSU students with their tuition. Mazey served as the 11th president of BGSU and is a first-generation college student who personally knows the importance of tuition support. She was fortunate to have support for her undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees.
