IMPORTANCE: The potential relationship between obesity and colorectal cancer (CRC) outcome is poorly understood in patients with late-stage disease. Increased body mass index may negate aspirin use for cancer prevention, but its role as a factor on the effectiveness of postdiagnosis aspirin use is unclear. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate how prediagnosis obesity and postdiagnosis aspirin use may be associated with overall survival in patients with late-stage colorectal cancer.

Pet cats and dogs may help protect infants from food allergies, study suggests

By Janelle Chavez of CNN Children who live with cats or dogs during foetal development and early infancy may be less likely than other kids to develop food allergies, according to a new study. The study, published Wednesday in the journal PLOS One, analysed data from over 65,000 children from Japan. It found that children exposed to cats or indoor dogs had a 13 percent to 16 percent lower risk of all food allergies compared with babies in pet-free homes.
