My first taste of journalism was with The Borgen Project!
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes! Not in a professional setting.
How is social media changing news?
Social media accelerates news, enabling real-time updates and engagement. However, it also raises challenges like misinformation!
What does it mean to be a journalist?
Being a journalist means reporting truthfully, investigating facts, and informing the public while upholding integrity, accuracy, and accountability in storytelling.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
WordPress, Grammarly, Yoast, and Google Docs!
Who do you wish followed you?
Honestly, I'm not too worried about who follows me or not. What truly matters to me is doing my job to the best of my ability!
Why did you become a journalist?
It wasn't my intention to become a journalist, as I am more of a copywriter. However, I wanted to try something new to expand my skillset!
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
You don't need to be a perfect writer to be a journalist. Keep an open mind, and always seek feedback and learn.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
The worst pitch I received was a threatening demand to publish a contributed article to my employer's website.
What's your favorite drink?
I can't live without my coffee and enjoy peppermint tea.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
You'll likely find me at the dining room table, enjoying a cozy cup of tea while getting lost in a good book!
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
Bloomberg and Reuters!
