1 Introduction The macauba palm (Acrocomia aculeata, Arecaceae) has earned the nickname “Green Gold” in Latin American countries due to its versatility as a raw material. High-protein flour is produced from the mesocarp, while the nut is used for charcoal production. However, the oils extracted from the mesocarp (pulp) and endocarp (kernel) are the most commercially valuable (Berton et al. 2013; Ciconini et al. 2013; Colombo et al. 2018; de Lima et al. 2018).
