A citizen petition seeking to require Baker City officials to get approval from city voters before reducing the number of traffic lanes on certain streets might not make the Nov. 3 ballot after all, although backers have up to two years to pursue the campaign. Supporters submitted almost 1,500 signatures to the city on June 22. To qualify the measure for the Nov. 3 ballot, promoters need about 1,130 valid signatures from people registered to vote in city elections.
