What was your first job as a journalist?

The Borger News-Herald. I became the managing editor after only a few months. It was the fastest learning experience of my life.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Howard Beale from the 1979 film Network or The Fountainhead's Gail Wynand. (Can you spell anthropomorphology?)

Who do you wish followed you?

I don't know that I wish anyone followed me in particular, but I'm sure I'd shoot to the moon to get any recognition from Steve Inskeep.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I am most proud of my story on Texas' marijuana laws. The story picked up a lot of steam and sparked a needed conversation.
