June 10, 2026, 7:02 a.m. ET A family-owned furniture business in metro Detroit is preparing to close, citing tough competition from online retailers and the tightening household finances of its lower- and middle-income customer base. Romeo Bazinet Jr., 71, who, with his son, owns Warren-based Romeo & Juliet Furniture, said their business has been losing money for more than two years and that they had few choices left but to close their doors.
