Jonathan D. Salant’s Biography

Jonathan D. Salant, an award-winning political and investigative reporter, is the Washington correspondent for NJ Advance Media, serving nj.com and The Star-Ledger. He has worked for Bloomberg News, The Associated Press, Newhouse News Service and the Syracuse Herald-Journal and The Post-Standard, among other publications. He is a winner of the Dirksen Award for Distinguished Reporting of Congress, the Lee Walczak Award for Political Analysis, and two New York Press Club awards, and was a finalist for the Raymond Clapper Award for Washington Reporting and the Robin Toner Prize for Excellence in Political Reporting. A former president of the National Press Club, he is a frequent speaker at journalism conferences, including Investigative Reporters and Editors, and is the co-author of the Follow the Money Handbook.
He lives in Rockville, Md., with his wife Bonnie Cole and their son Isaac.
