INDIAN SHORES — The town welcomed a new attorney June 9, as Noah M. Daiker of Bryant, Miller and Olive P.A. attended his first Town Council meeting. The council unanimously approved Daiker’s contract at a special meeting May 28. He replaces Daniel Lewis, who chose not to seek another contract and finished his final day as town attorney May 17. Daiker works out of the Tampa office of Bryant, Miller and Olive, a firm specializing in state and local government law.

NORTH REDINGTON BEACH — The Board of Commissioners endorsed a fourth-grader’s community service project, proclaimed June as National Aphasia Awareness Month and reappointed seven residents to town boards at its June 11 town hall meeting, where applause broke out at nearly every turn. During the public input portion of the meeting, Luca Terracciano, a fourth-grader at Gulf Beaches Elementary School and a Redington Beach resident, presented a project he designed to keep the beaches clean.

ST. PETERSBURG — The St. Petersburg-Pinellas Civitan Club presented its 40th annual Field Training Officer of the Year award April 17 at the St. Petersburg Police Department, honoring Officer Quentin-Lee Morgan for 2025. The award goes annually to a field training officer nominated and elected by the officers he or she has personally trained. Civitan Club President Maria Christiano said the award was established in 1985 by Steve Thomas, a local attorney and past club president who died in 2018.
