Dems used Ellsworth
“Sen. Ellsworth found guilty of official misconduct.” Gotta hand it to the Democrats, they strategized well on this to benefit themselves. During last legislative session, while Ellsworth’s Republican colleagues were attempting to censure him and remove him from office for the very thing he was just found guilty of, the Democrats were busy trying to protect Ellsworth and retain him in the Senate because Ellsworth had made an alliance with the Democrats.

Guest column: Rosendale taking a stand against self-serving power
It seems there are not many who believe the operations of our nation’s government in Washington D.C. are like a well-oiled machine exuding integrity, transparency, and a focus on representing the people. In-fact, most we encounter believe Washington D.C. is not only mostly dysfunctional, but also a frenzy for power, an institution that is highly self-serving, and often corrupt.
Rosendale is right - It’s time for new leadership in the House
It seems there are not many who believe the operations of our nation’s government in Washington D.C. are like a well-oiled machine exuding integrity, transparency, and a focus on representing the people. In fact, most we encounter believe Washington D.C. is not only mostly dysfunctional, but also a frenzy for power, an institution that is highly self-serving and often corrupt. Montana is just one of a few blessed states to have a congressman in Rep.
Guest column: Democrats’ maps designed to disenfranchise voters
Right now, Montana is in the middle of the once-in-a-decade process of redrawing legislative districts following the 2020 Census. Unlike many other states, Montana has a commission comprised of two Republicans, two Democrats, and one nonpartisan chair whose mission is to draw new districts based on constitutional requirements and common sense, not politics.
Chamberlin's commonsense needed in state Legislature
When I first ran for office I always thought, “If I ever have the opportunity to serve Montana in the Legislature, to the best of my ability, I want to be the same kind of person that I would like to have represent me.” I wanted to be the type of legislator who is principled, who will take courageous stands under pressure and keep my word with the values I professed. I wanted to be known as someone who is consistent and who could be trusted.
Stop the spending spree
So much for the promises of no sales taxes. I often ask myself, “why are the Montana taxpayers always left on the hook?” Having served now two sessions, I marvel at the stark difference in tone between the two.Upon adjournment in the 2015 session, the governor was left with a balanced budget and $300 million in reserve funding.
