Fond memories - The Compass

When I started at The Compass in 1997, I filed my copy of each issue in a large drawer according to the cover date. As the drawer filled up, I realized that I needed a different plan. The issues are archived, so it wasn’t necessary to keep each copy. The drawer eventually became storage for select issues that I decided to save. The ending of The Compass is cause for reflection, so I pulled out some of those old issues from the drawer. I don’t know why I chose to save a few of them.

New St. Norbert College president says she strives to create a ‘community of learners’

DE PERE — Members of the Class of 2027 weren’t the only newcomers to participate in this year’s “Welcome Week” at St. Norbert College. Laurie Joyner, Ph.D., who officially started as the college’s ninth president on July 12, described the week as an “amazing surprise.” The week, which included convocation, Mass, a community picnic, concert and fireworks display, served as a good introduction for Joyner to the Norbertine ideal of communio, living together in communion.
