Growth, development and environmental protection aren't abstract policy questions to me. They're about whether the family on your block can still afford to live there, whether your street drains the way it used to, and whether the wetlands and dunes that shield us from the next big storm are still standing when it arrives. Galveston needs to grow, and I welcome that. But growth has to work for the people who already live here, not just the people building here.
