It has come to my attention that questions have been raised about the use of Wyoming taxpayer dollars to support emergency responses across the Montana state line, immediately adjacent to the Tongue River Fire Protection District. As fire chief, I believe our taxpayers deserve an explanation of why we cross that line, what it costs, and, more importantly, what it means for the safety of the people we serve.

Juvenile killed, another injured in single-vehicle crash on Refugee Road

VIOLET TOWNSHIP − A juvenile passenger died as a result of a single-vehicle crash around 3:45 p.m. on Oct. 26 near 8060 Refugee Road NW, and other was injured. Fairfield County Sheriff Alex Lape said the vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a tree head-on. He did not release the names of the three people in the vehicle, their ages or the gender of the two juveniles. The adult female driver was transported to Mount Carmel East, where she hospitalized.
