Jeffrey Gogo is a freelance journalist based in Harare, Zimbabwe. A former Deputy Business Editor with the Zimbabwe Herald, the country's biggest daily, Gogo has more than 15 years experience of financial and business journalism.
In recent years, he has branched into cryptocurrency and climate change journalism, driven by his keen interest in cryptocurrency-based peer-to-peer payment systems as well as trading. Gogo is also passionate about nature, Biblical history and history in general.
Until recently, Gogo worked as a full-time reporter for news.Bitcoin.com, covering mostly the Africa region. He has written extensively about cryptocurrency markets in Africa and elsewhere, proding the crevices of bitcoin adoption, use, trade and development in a largely hostile environment.
His work on climate change has been published by the Thomson Reuters Foundation, where he is a contributor, and the Zimbabwe Herald, where he runs a weekly column on the subject. In 2011 Gogo helped found the iGreen Magazine, a local quarterly environmental publication as editor, while continuing to write for several local online publications on related subjects.
Gogo has also written for a US-based financial website 123jump.com, covering earnings and stock market news for the UK, France, Germany and Japanese markets. His other work has appeared in the Business Weekly, a Zimbabwean weekly newspaper.
