Who has an ego problem? This question came to mind some months ago. It was a time of year when the suggestion that seasonal symptoms of sickness are valid and inevitable can seem particularly strong, causing us to accept the possibility that we can experience anything other than perfect health and perfect harmony with our Father-Mother, God, good. In praying about this, I knew that Truth, God, was on my side. As a student of Christian Science, I knew so well man’s exemption from such claims.

The café, called Doughboy’s CHGO Enterprises, will serve “basic comfort food,” Mr. Fryison said, and they hope it will attract not only locals but visitors from the soon-to-open Obama Presidential Center a mile-and-a-half down the street.

The tone coming out of the Group of Seven summit – from media reports and leaders alike – was nothing short of giddy: President Donald Trump was playing ball. All through the three days of meetings, he had not walked out, or lectured his colleagues, or thrown a wrench into plans for a unified front – all of which he had done in the past. On the biggest issue, support for Ukraine, he not only agreed, but also suggested perhaps renewing American sanctions on Russia.

India reckons with a woman’s ‘worth’

In a society where a woman’s status is still largely viewed as subordinate to that of a man, a recent ruling by India’s Supreme Court spotlights the significant, and largely unacknowledged, contributions of women to both individual households and the national economy. In dry legalese, the June 11 verdict establishes a monetary value for “loss of domestic care” in a compensation case for a 2001 vehicle crash that claimed the life of a young wife and mother of three.
