Ultimately, what many lenders view as the last line of defense is the ability to realize on, or monetize, the collateral that has been pledged to secure the loan.

Big Digital Apple – New York Adopts the 2022 UCC Amendments | JD Supra

Six months after being adopted by the New York State legislature,1 the 2022 Amendments to the Uniform Commercial Code2 (the “2022 Amendments”) were signed into law by Governor Hochul on December 5, 2025. New York becomes the 33rd UCC jurisdiction to enact the 2022 Amendments. The version of the amendments as enacted by New York (the “NY Amendments”)3 becomes effective 180 days after signing (on June 3, 2026 (the “Effective Date”)).

Digital Assets-Focused UCC Amendments Pass New York Legislature | JD Supra

On June 11, 2025, the New York State Senate passed a bill adopting the 2022 Amendments to the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC).1 The 2022 Amendments have now been passed by both houses of the New York legislature, and can be delivered to New York’s governor.
