The objective of this study was to further enhance the performance of [18F]-C-SNAT4 as an apoptosis imaging probe in radiotherapy. Utilizing a hot/cold mixing strategy, we aim to improve cellular retention of [18F]-C-SNAT4 within apoptotic cells. Adding 80x to 200x cold [19F]-C-SNAT4 substrate for caspase-3 facilitates the formation of intracellular nanoaggregates, which increases the local concentration of [18F] within apoptotic tumor cells.
