Introduction Severe acute malnutrition (SAM) is a nutritional deterioration identified by anthropometric indicators such as a WH/L -3Z score or MUAC 11.5 cm and/or the presence of nutritional edema (1, 2). Malnutrition remains a major public health issue worldwide, with 149.2(22%) million under-five children stunted, 45.4(6.7%) million under-five children wasted, and 38.9(5.7%) million children undernutrition.
