Jem Sirrine’s Biography

Jem Sirrine is the PGA/ECR team lead for International Customs Clearance at FedEx Logistics in Memphis, Tennessee. He has been with the company for nearly three years. He has taken on many responsibilities, including communication with government agencies, training new team members, troubleshooting issues with high-value shipments, and ensuring compliance with regulations. He resolves shipment-related problems quickly and efficiently while developing Desk-Level Procedures to streamline training and improve team performance.

Jem began his career as an Athletic Training Intern with the Cleveland Indians in Winter Haven, Florida, after earning his Bachelor's in Athletic Training from Appalachian State University. During this time, he assisted with rehabilitating and treating player injuries across both minor and major leagues. He then served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Central Florida, where he completed a Master of Arts in Exercise Physiology.

In 2000, Sirrine worked as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Winter Park High School, where he coordinated with the Head Athletic Trainer to provide coverage for all varsity and junior varsity sports. His responsibilities included performing pre-practice treatments, overseeing athletic training interns, and teaching Personal Health, Fitness, and Team Sports courses. Jem’s next role took him to Warner University in Lake Wales, Florida, as the Head Athletic Trainer. He oversaw 16 varsity sports, managed the department’s budget, and built partnerships with orthopedic surgeons to expand the Sports Medicine team.

Sirrine later worked as an athletic trainer for Bond Clinic in Winter Haven, where he contributed to the growth of the orthopedic department and formed new relationships with local schools. He provided athletic training services, conducted patient evaluations, and managed the clinic's insurance billing.

He also spent 11 years as the Head Athletic Trainer at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. During this time, he managed a team of eight certified athletic trainers, coordinated the department’s budget, and worked to implement screening policies for athletes. He also collaborated with architects and vendors to design new facilities and continued teaching Athletic Training and First Aid courses.

In his current role at FedEx Logistics, Jem ensures that all documentation complies with government regulations, resolves shipment delays, and trains new agents. He works with various departments to streamline clearance processes and minimize future delays. His commitment to customer service and regulatory compliance continues to contribute to the company’s success.
