Vitamin B12 status and long-term fracture risk in a multicenter propensity score–matched cohort
Abstract Vitamin B12 status may be associated with fracture risk, but prior evidence is inconsistent, and abnormal concentrations may partly reflect broader nutritional status, comorbidity, or healthcare utilization. We examined whether laboratory-defined vitamin B12 deficiency was associated with subsequent incident fracture among adults aged ≥ 50 years undergoing vitamin B12 testing.
Use of sphenopalatine ganglion block in patients with postdural puncture headache: a pilot meta-analysis
Editor—We read with great interest the article by Jespersen and colleagues, who reported no significant difference in pain relief between postdural puncture headache (PDPH) patients with sphenopalatine ganglion block treatment and those without. However, sphenopalatine ganglion block has been found to be an effective intervention for PDPH in a case series, 2 Kent S. Mehaffey G. Transnasal sphenopalatine ganglion block for the treatment of postdural puncture headache in obstetric patients.
