What was your first job as a journalist?
My first job was a press conference with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman for UGO. I got them both to laugh!
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes! I used to play around with my grandmother's old typewriter. I wish I could afford to collect them!
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
I prefer email pitches, though product review pitches can go through my social media, including TikTok: .after.comet
What's your favorite social network?
It's between Bluesky, TikTok, and Instagram
Who do you wish followed you?
Most of the people I like actually do follow me, I'm humbled to admit.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I co-hosted a web series with the legendary Stan Lee. It was an incredible experience
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Put yourself out there on social media. I've gotten tons of gigs that way.
What's the worst pitch you ever got?
I got one for an opening of a local UPS location. I've covered running, entertainment, wellness, beauty, and travel, but never that.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
If I'm not typing, I'm out training for a marathon!
What's the most common misperception about your beat?
I cover a lot of things, but with running, I'm often pitched for races, assuming I'm not willing to run them for a story. I am!
