Jennie M. Morton’s Biography

As a journalist for 16 years, I am passionate about all things commercial buildings, engineering, and infrastructure. I have written about the ingredients of paint and renewable energy to safety design and office trends. I'm a huge advocate for sustainability, which dovetails with my love of adaptive reuse and historic preservation. I have a knack for interesting questions that prompt architects, designers, and engineers to share their best insights.

What was your first job as a journalist?

Photography for high school newspaper and yearbook, then copyeditor in college

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Proudly own a 1950s Smith Corona with teal keys and a tan base.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

Hildy Johnson as played by Rosalind Russell in "His Girl Friday." But honorary mention to Charles Foster Kane as a cautionary tale.
