On February 17, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas granted an order in Smith v. United States Department of the Treasury lifting a nationwide preliminary injunction on the CTA. In making this ruling, Judge Jeremy Kernodle relied on the January 23 U.S. Supreme Court order in McHenry v. Texas Top Cop Shop, Inc.
Understanding How the Scriptures Came to Be
Keywords human mind, prophets, automatic writing, scriptures Abstract A new book by Mike Ash examines to what degree the human mind is involved in receiving revelation. Ash sums up his view by saying, “prophets have a special calling, but not a special brain.” He then spends 700+ pages describing what that means and how it works.

As a survivor and Latter-day Saint, here's what AP missed in Arizona abuse case
I'm a survivor of sex abuse at the hands of a youth pastor. I was a teenager in a broken home. It feels trite to say abuse is traumatic. The fact is it alters a young person's life for years. My own personal journey of healing led to later work as a therapist supporting victims and advocating for additional ways to protect children in religious settings. I've also conducted research with an eye toward identifying systems and best practices to deter abuse.
The Latter-day Saint FAIR Conference, BYU Education Week and the misperception of declining faith in America Original
As I was rushing out the door earlier this month, I explained to my 7-year-old that I was heading to a conference where a bunch of adults were speaking on religious topics. It's a credit to his concern for my feelings that he tried to hide his disgust. Thousands of kids will have the same reaction, undoubtedly, as their parents descend upon Brigham Young University for its annual Education Week gathering. Some kids aren't outgrowing these impulses.

What to do when 'me time' isn't helping you relax Original
Lots of people are tired these days, and it's not just physical fatigue. On both emotional and mental levels, the burnout is palpable. We see it in health care professionals, teachers, clergy and especially among parents. There's even a trend among young people to stay in bed all day as a form of self-care; revealingly, it's called " bed-rotting." As specialists in women's issues and mental health, we are sensitive to this very real problem, especially among women.
Are Latter Day Saints more likely to abuse kids? Analysis of Boy Scouts of America records suggests 'no'
On 19 April 2023, The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) announced they had cleared the final hurdle before emerging from Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. The US 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals approved their plan for compensating victims of sexual abuse. That plan included an agreement with their insurers, all the local councils, and some of their sponsoring organisations to create a $2.4b settlement trust to compensate victims. This is the largest sexual abuse compensation fund ever.
I Know How to Lower Church Abuse Rates By 75%
The following first appeared in Public Square Magazine. Cover image: “The Good Shepherd” by Bernhard Plockhorst (1878) The rate of abuse that occurs at churches of all denominations is much too high. And while itâs true that children are at much higher risk of abuse at school, churches can and should hold themselves to a higher standard. But addressing this problem is difficult because good data on who is addressing the problem well is hard to come by and hard to trust.

For at least the last month, it has been reaching out to large retailers to seek data and other information on how they purchase and price soft drinks.
Perspective: The vandals who desecrated Latter-day Saint chapels are wrong
Last week, Latter-day Saint church buildings in the greater Salt Lake City area were vandalized. A meeting house in Orem was ransacked. In Sandy, multiple buildings were defaced, and graffiti was scrawled across the façade of one house of worship, reading: "Predators welcome." We respond: no, they aren't. One of us served as a bishop and stake president, and the other is a survivor of abuse who now works as a clinical therapist helping abuse victims.
