Police investigating mass shooting at Seattle food festival

At least four people including a child were wounded in a shooting Sunday night at Seattle Center. The Seattle Times is reporting that two people have been killed. This has not been confirmed by Seattle Police. Seattle Center was hosting the Bite of Seattle, an event that draws thousands of people. Witnesses tell KNKX that around 6 p.m. a series of pops were heard and crowds began to leave the area en masse. Police are investigating and urge people to avoid the area.

Red Cross helps respond to Kaiser Canyon Fire

Fire crews continue to battle the state’s largest blaze. The Kaiser Canyon Fire in Northeastern Washington, still largely uncontained, is mainly burning on the Colville Reservation and has displaced more than 1,000 people from the area, including the entire town of Nespelem. The Red Cross is among the agencies moving quickly to set up shelters and recruit volunteers to serve people who have been evacuated. Click "Listen" above to hear this story.
