Luda Diatchenko, MD, PhD is a Canada Excellence Research Chair in Human Pain Genetics, Professor, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Anesthesia and Faculty of Dentistry at McGill University, Alan Edwards Centre for Research on Pain. She earned her MD and PhD in the field of molecular biology from the Russian State Medical University. She started her career in industry, she was a Leader of the RNA Expression Group at Clontech, Inc., and subsequently, Director of Gene Discovery at Attagene, Inc.

The incidence of breast cancer has stabilized over the past 10 years, while death rates have declined. Thus, many women are living with long-term effects of breast cancer, including pain syndromes relating to breast cancer. As our understanding of these types of pain syndromes improves, delivery of care to this population becomes paramount. In this review, we discuss advances in rehabilitation and interventional pain management to improve pain and symptom management.
