Frost and Freeze Warnings for parts of WNY and N. PA overnight

BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Frost Advisory is in effect for most of Western New York, including Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Genesee and Wyoming counties from midnight until 9am Saturday morning. Temperatures are expected to fall into the mid 30s to even lower 30s early Saturday morning, which will allow a frost to form, especially areas away from Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. The growing season in this area starts May 1.

Soggy start to the weekend

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The weekend will start out soggy and cooler, with a nice second half of the weekend expected. We aren't tracking any notable rainfall until much later Friday night and into much of Saturday. A damp day is likely on Saturday, with most of the waves of rain the first part of the day then becomes more scattered heading into the evening as the bulk of the rain starts to move out.

Tornado confirmed in Machias on Wednesday night

Cayden Schaus/Machias Volunteer Fire Department Machias has now seen a second tornado touchdown there in a matter of about two weeks, and just a mile apart. The second, weak tornado briefly touched down at 8:13 p.m. Wednesday and was on the ground for about a minute in Cattaraugus County. The National Weather Service confirming the weak tornado was an EF-0 with estimated peak wind at 75 mph. Path length 0.17 miles, path width 55 yards. No injuries were reported.
