1 Introduction Epistaxis is one of the most common emergencies in otolaryngology, with a lifetime prevalence ranging from 60% to 80% in the general population [1]. It is estimated that up to 10% of cases require medical intervention, with 1%–2% associated with a significant survival risk [2-4]. Severe spontaneous epistaxis, which is defined as persistent or recurrent bleeding despite nasal pressure, is a challenging condition associated with a significant cost burden for healthcare resources.
