Writers Writing About Being Writers
Hello Team CCC! How are you? I am having a glorious time.
5 Quick Things #323 đ"
Hey there, We are in peak wildflower season around here in Central Texas! You canât drive down the highway without being visually assaulted with all the yellows, reds, and blues of springâs show-offs blanketing the ground. Itâs a big reason this is my favorite time of year in this neck of the woods. Earlier this week, Kyle and I mused over one of the cooler parts of it all: weâve all collectively, societally decided that letting the wildflowers grow is good for us.

Every Time, I Underestimate The Dark
Fall is such a seductress, with her pumpkin spice and fleece, her golden leaves and crispy air. Every time she comes, she’s all you’ve ever wanted: that cool, delicious breeze after a long, hot day in the sun—after months of long, hot days in the sun. She’s legwarmers and beanie hats and sweaters, but no need for a bulky jacket. She’s the crackle crunch of leaves under your boots and the smell of apple everything. She’s so glorious you forget what’s coming.
Jessica Pan's Year of Living Dangerously
Would your friends describe you as more of an introvert or extrovert? How would you describe yourself? How has being whichever “vert” you are impacted your relationships, jobs, and random experiences as you’ve made your way in the world? Have you ever done something out of character on purpose – on a dare, to test yourself, for the hell of it, or for “research” on a story you wanted to write? How did that work out? Welcome! You’ve reached Spark.Learn more here or just read on.
My book SORRY I’M LATE, I DIDN’T WANT TO COME is out now!
Order the USA version in paperback or e-book at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, IndieBound, Apple, or on audiobook (the cover with the messy cake, frosted badly by me). An excerpt from the book ran in The Cut / New York Magazine – read it here. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ The UK version is available in hardback: order at Amazon, Waterstones, Hive, or the audio book at Audible UK (the cover with the speech bubble).
