Poh promises a classic heroic fantasy with uncomplicated valor, chivalry, faith, and epic stakes. Hello- I am the target audience.

This isn’t just a toss-away fact either. The number forty comes up over and over again: The rain of the Great Flood lasted 40 days and nights. Moses fasted for 40 days and nights to prepare himself to receive the Law. Moses was atop Mount Sinai for 40 days and nights receiving the Law.

I’m a goth girl. While I may not ascribe to the dark clothes, heavy makeup, and dark rock music, I jumped on that Victorian Gothic Literature (TM) bandwagon so fast that I’m pretty sure that my head is still spinning. It’s in my blood. My mother was a die-hard Dickens fan and was the one who introduced me to the dark, romantic, and macabre aesthetics of the Victorian era.
